Lightning @ Leafs - Nov. 4th, 7:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Every now and again someone comes along in sport and you just want them to do well cos they come across as a great person and I'm really enjoying Campbell performing the way he is at the minute just for that reason. He's very quickly become a favourite Leaf of mine and probably favourite Leafs goalie since Belfour (who I liked for different reasons, obviously!)

Yeah. Very different . I don?t see Campbell getting arrested for public drunkenness and I certainly can?t see him offering the arresting officer $1 billion to release him.  :o

If this game had ended 1-0 I wouldn?t have been disappointed. I mean obviously I want a win but they went toe to toe with the 2 time
Cup winners and didn?t look out of place at all.

I actually thought the Lightning dominated. Just that Campbell made those three big saves to keep them in it long enough to get the equalizer.

Great win that could be the catalyst of a big run to come.

They gave up those chances because they were going all in trying to tie the game. If that happened in the first or second, ya I?d be annoyed, but at that stage of the game it was expected.
Campbell made some good saves but take it from me being at the game (and quite close for once) the Leafs looked like the better team overall.
I think they did, too.

You managed to pick out the exact reason I loved Belfour  ;D

Different times, eh?

Agreed. After the first period, the Leafs very much controlled the puck. Campbell kept them in it when they were all-in on trying to get the tying goal, but Tampa didn't have the puck much outside of those rushes.

What, no love for Nick Ritchie, who at the point of the turnover was the forward closest to the Leaf net, only Leaf skater under 30, and still managed to glide into getting a really nice view of the pass that eluded 3 Leafs in between as Jake Muzzin beat him to the play after going behind the opposite net?

Fair.

The only thing is a head hit should never be a 2 minute penalty.  Automatic 5 and a game.  It?s ridiculous that a predatory hit Carrie?s the same punishment as puck over the glass.  And to boot if the concussion spotter makes Marner sit for monitoring he faces a longer punishment than Sergachev

Great points.
