2-2-1 start with four of the games at home....

They need to get in the road.  Playing in Toronto is bad for the leafs. The crowd is so disinterested.  Why is that?

It was shocking watching the raptors run, the building was electric. Never seen that for the leafs.

Babcocks seat getting hotter.  Should have been let go in April.

Probably the only thing you've ever said I agree with

You don?t agree that Freddie isn?t very good?

nope
Don't agree either. Freddie had an off night but is a great goalie. The D has been brutal. Rielly is somehow turning into Gardiner. Ceci doesn't know where to stand. Barrie has been both good and lost. The JT line 5 v 5 has been terrible. Marner looks off. Somethings not right  and it's not Kappy, with him because he looks brutal. Early in the season so no panic yet. These guys will all get it going. Sandin looks very good.

Was busy after the first period - did I miss anything? ::)

I still can't get over that first period PK when Babcock had Marner take the faceoff, which of course he lost cleanly and it was in the net 2 seconds later. Bad memories of Hyman taking all those PK faceoffs last year (in the playoffs too, right? with only one good leg). Good to see that lesson sunk in.

Maybe we should rethink that Stanley Cup in 2020 thing?

Recency bias but after getting your clock cleaned like that it's hard to envision their defense getting them out of the first round, let alone thru 4 of them.

5 games in and we've had a few ugly moments already. Better now then in April. I think there's still some time to get this going!

I think with all the roster turnover it will take 15-20 games to get comfortable

Didn?t watch the game but the score tells me the goaltending was off and that Stamkos line had a field day in a crappy Leaf night.

Not all on Freddie. Rielly and the rest of the top 4 D were brutal. Sandin and Holl were our best pairing. Matthews line was good. Mikheyev was good. JT line had a few moments in the first. Key word few. Not good enough.

We are 5 games into the season. Breathe people.

Several teams that were supposed to be really good teams this year have struggled out of the gate.
Dallas is 1-3
New Jersey is 0-2-2
San Jose is 1-4

The Leafs had a fairly major overhaul this summer. Yes they definitely need to be better, but this is 4.1% of their schedule. Give it time.

Andersen looks like crap.

Just watch him closely. He is really slow at tracking the puck. Like that 3rd goal he allowed against the Blues.

He lost sight of the puck and that was the reason for that goal. He will pick it up again, like he always does.

Standup goaltending ain't what it used to be. Anderson is a big guy but doesn't fill the net when he is either on his knees or crouching down low.  His glove is leaving something to be desired.  I think they should give the newly renovated Kaskisuo an opportunity to do one of the back to backs.  His save percentage is great since the AHL playoffs last year.  I have no faith in Hutch.

No faith in Hutch either.

Anderson has quite a number of years in a row of being a consistent top-15 or better starter in the league.  I think it makes sense to give him a little slack.

I also think that we should expect that with a team 1/2 full of new players, it will take a little while for the defense to gell.
