I think it was Sid Seixeiro who pointed out that Rogers paid alot for the NHL rights and it hasn't really panned out and they kinda need the Leafs playing playoff games. At least one series. So a tear down rebuild is not happening.

I'll never understand why pushing for the unsustainable is always the first thought of Leafs owners. It's ridiculous. Destroy future competitiveness with a futile run to the playoffs is really smart management...
