Line-up changes - Part II

Curious... Do folks feel a #1 goalie or a #1 centre is more important to this team right now going forward.

I think they both rank behind an offensive defenseman.

Is just me, or is trying to predict roster/line-ups just insane this off-season?  I think this might have to be sorted out in training camp.

That Rielly kid looks promising.

Doesn't spell his name right.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle

Leafs prospect Morgan Rielly had funny expression when it was suggested his name was oddly spelled: "It's I before E except after C, right?"

I dont understand the whole Bozak thing. Yes I do understand that he is not a Richards. I got that. The reason the leafs did not make the playoffs was not their offensive ability it was base on sub par defense system and awful goal tending.

I am interested to see lombardi this year.  I think he could have a lupul type resurgence year.  He would be a pretty good third line centre if he could revert back to the guy he was in calgary that got him the contract in nashville.

Big "M", little "organ" though, right?  :o

He should probably weigh his opinions more carefully next time.

Kessel was drafted as a centre too from the same program, and I don't think anybody would say he's a suitable centre in the NHL.

I agree with the point but Kessel got drafted out of the U of Minnesota program so he at least got a little further with it.

Either way, I think the point stands. There's a world of difference between "He can play centre" and  "He can play centre in the NHL".

Ah sorry I thought he only entered the NCAA after being drafted. But yeah, point still stands. I'm not sure why we'd want JVR to centre the top-line anyway. 3-shoot first players, none of whom are known for their defensive play? That sounds like a disaster in the making.

He's not a shoot first player as you think he is:

Good video. I loved the part at the beginning (around 1:35) with his battle with Chris Phillips. That's exactly the type of net presence this team needs.

I totally agree.  Someone who is willing to stand in front of the net.  And eventually he was rewarded for it.

I will say this, as much as I dislike what Burke has done this weekend, the people who must be really upset are the ones who get annoyed when players names are misspelled. I bet we get roughly 2,000 variations on van Riemsdyk.

That would be me.  Me me me me me.
