Managing the Cap

I have to think that Bodie is in there as the 23rd guy.

I think, the cap being what it is, it's getting harder and harder to justify using that 23rd spot. If the farm team was on the West coast or something maybe but as is it seems kind of pointless to have three guys in the press box every night.

Agreed. I am looking forward to training camp. Can't wait to see the completions.

What's the minimum roster requirement on day 1?

20. 18 skaters and 2 goalies. Minimum roster requirement is always the same as the minimum for a complete lineup.

Thanks Busta.

I can appreciate that, especially when you're coming in real close to the ceiling.  I suppose though that teams tend to keep guys on the roster because they can't send most of them down without clearing waivers.

I can hardly wait for camp, I think we have some real good competative players whom are going to make us a much better team. Nonis has done some astute hiring this off season. Its going to push everyone to work their asses off

If that's the case, then Carter Ashton probably takes the 23rd spot.  Bodie, Orr, and Smith wouldn't be players we'd have to be worried about getting plucked off waivers.  Ashton I think we would.

agreed, Ashton has developed a little hard edge to his game, a bit Darcy..ish and little Joker..ish.
Last season he played with abandon and we need a lot more of that. All the others are journeymen.
