Marlies Talk

Yup, but I think the worst thing Burke could do is go with Reimer and Scrivens next season. That just screams disaster. Go with one or the other and a veteran guy. My preference would be to keep Scrivens.

I agree with this

That's what I was implying.  20 games of solid goaltending from Reimer was great and everything, but he wasn't good in the preseason.  He wasn't all that good in the first 3 games of the year before Gomez took his head off either.  And then he was awful the rest of the year aside from a week long stretch of games.

I think you need to bring someone in to be the #1 guy next year and then let Reimer and Scrivens fight it out for the backup/1B role.  If they both suck, you pick the least awful one, try and send the other guy to the minors and if you lose you, so be it, else, consider a trade.

It was Gionta that hit Reimer.  Gomez doesn't go to the net.

Reimer/Scrivens 2012 - who's backing this ticket?!!

Mayans.

Blacker takes his spot back from Lashoff, sounds like they don't want Lashoff playing back-to-back after the long layoff. Kelsey Wilson goes in for David Broll. Still no Colborne, out with a finger injury.

they looked really good in that OT ...seemed like they could taste blood..it took a miracle to stop kadri from winning it and they just kept pressing.  I know the time off can be a double edged sword..but i like the time it gives Colborne to get healthy ..i feel despite the two wins that the marlies have missed having him in the lineup

I'm pretty sure Kadri scored like a minute into the first game in Abbotsford.

the exception as opposed to the rule.  I think that's the only game in this series that the marlie's scored first

As long as they finish games the way they have been I don't really care.

I thought Abbotsford would give them more trouble. They were so hot coming into this series. It's a real credit to the Marlies how they closed this out in five games.

Scrivens league leading numbers in all three categories:
7W-1L
1.61 GAA
.944 save%

They've allowed one PP goal against in 36 times short handed 97.2% kill rate.

So far in the playoffs, they have the second best offence at 3.38 goals/game and the top defence with 1.75 goals against/game.

Their only significant flaw statistically is the 11.1% PP (12th).

Having said that, they've only played 9 games to compile those stats.

I'd love to comment more on their play but I simply have had the chance to see much of their games. By the looks of the stats, we couldn't ask for much more. Very encouraging.

Great to see the Marlies close it out and move on.

I'm also happy to see that the Norfolk Admirals, who the Marlies could potentially face for the Calder Cup if they keep on winning, have lost 3 playoff games in 2 rounds after 26 consecutive wins to close out the regular season.
