McLaren placed on waivers

I think McLaren would beat Orr in a fist fight...and he also has more pts/game so pretty much a slam dunk, in my opinion, that we just tossed the wrong guy.

Well the Leafs save less cap space by waiving McLaren over Orr, so they have that going for the move?

We're also getting LESS cap space then if we waived Orr? Someone needs to write Nonis a strongly worded letter...very strongly.

I agree with Deebo and Nik.  It was Orr I was hoping to go. Slow and no Hockey IQ.

McLaren was younger, faster, bigger and tried to make stuff happen offensively.

Would Orr being injured have anything to do with him not being on waivers?

Oh,  I didn't catch that Orr was injured.  I think that affected the Leafs sending Holland down with his 'lace bite'.

Unless Nonis is making a trade or Bolland is coming back tonight I don't see the need to waive McLaren.

Either Orr or Mclaren would not of hurt the awful play the team put together last night. Either one of the two would of at least hit someone, show some heart atleast.

Except neither of them have been doing that on a consistent basis this season either.

They wouldn't have helped either, nor would they have accomplished anything in the 3 minutes of ice time they would have been given.

Not surprisingly, McLaren clears waivers. Smith placed on waivers today.

So can he be brought up without a waiver situation again? I think the new CBA changed things. Perhaps we'll see Orr get waived (and he isn't getting claimed... ;)) and then McLaren brought back up. Although the pics Orr has on Carlyle would have to disappear.

Well, in fairness, your second point is irrelevant when discussing this type of player.  But I agree with you that if one robot or the other needs to be on the roster, I prefer this one.

(My childish 'robot' reference)

What fantastic news, now finally rid of Frazer and Frazer, now we only need to jetison Molten Orr

Highlander, you've been working on this material for a while and you finally nailed it.  'Molten Orr' is pretty good.
