Men's Olympic hockey

Canada will be incredibly tough for the Swedes to score on. I'm expecting another 1-0, 2-1 game. But unlike today, it won't be nearly as exciting.

Canada's defense group was superb though.

Strong on defence, solid in goal equals a trip to the Gold Medal game Sunday against Sweden in the Men's Olympic Hockey final.

Jamie Benn's goal was all Canada really needed in shutting out and shutting down Team USA and their much vaunted offence.  Any which way, Canad got the job done.

Team Sweden broke a 1-1 tie in the second period and hung on to beat Team Finland 2-1, and assure themselves entry in Sunday's gold medal game against Team Canada, in the Men's Olympic Ice Hockey event.

For a Leafs fans perspective, I thought Kessel was pretty dangerous all game.  He set up Carlson real early on and Price made maybe the best save of the game on it.

For some reason, being on the "opposition" side helped to put it in perspective how dangerous he is. When I watch a Leafs' game and the puck is on his stick I get excited. When's he's an opponent and has the puck, I get scared.

LA Kings  @ LaKings
So many feelings.

When the Olympics started all I wanted was these 4 gold medals. Men's and women's curling and hockey.

Almost there.

Sunday at 7 am. And the bars will be open.

Just in Ontario or Nation wide? Not that it matters to me, I am at work and couldn't go nor drink, get to watch the game though, thanks to our awesome Plant Manager!

Just in Toronto, but Hazel said if Toronto does it then she will to. So I'm sure most communities are jumping on board. Check with your local watering hole.

Kessel served his country well at these Olympic Games, as did JVR. They both had great tournaments for the USA.

Now it's time to get back to Toronto and do us Leaf fans proud!!!

Kessel now has my full permission to light up Finland in the bronze medal game.

Did Gardiner and Reilly ever announce what their bet on the game was?

Loser has to improve defensively.

I didn't think the bet was that huge.

Shouldn't take much to go from "no defense" to "improved".  :P

Pretty solid game from Canada actually.  I felt more comfortable with them in this one than the Latvia game to be honest.

The Finnish Flash makes it 1-0 for Finland.

...and just like that it's 2-0, 11 seconds later.

I'm kinda torn between rooting for Teemu in his last olympics and rooting for JvR + Kessel. Entertaining game so far though.
