Men's Olympic hockey

I absolutely love how Healy keeps saying that the book on the Norwegian goalie is high blocker/glove and that the Canadians have done their homework. Pretty sure it's just the best hockey players on the planet picking corners.

Also, that's basically the "book" on just about every professional goalie in the world.

This just in: It's hard to stop well placed shots up high.

Groundbreaking. Next thing you're going to tell me is that having traffic in front of the net makes it harder for the goalie to see the puck.

Canada didn't shut out Norway?  #sochifail

;)

Hey, if Russia can allow 2 goals to Slovenia in their 1st ever Olympic game, then the Canadians allow 1 to the Norwegians. It's called good sportsmanship.

See, Healy told us it was "the book" on Haugen, he just didn't mention which book

Kunitz is another guy I have been disappointed with today, moreso with that stupid penalty.

I still think it was a stupid decision to bring him.  I know that you want to have a bit of continuity with your team to have some chemistry but he is not an Olympian without Crosby being his center.  That to me is the indication for a guy not being on the team.    The notion that Crosby needs that kind of insulation at the National level is insulting to his talent.  Giroux looks way better on that line IMO.

amen, LK. Amen.

Shot totals aside, I'm really not impressed with how Canada has played.  That inability to finish their chances seems like something that could be concerning when they face better teams (with better goaltenders too).

Except I don't think that is the notion. I think the idea is that Crosby is a unique player to play with and that, in these short tournaments, even supremely talented hockey players have some difficulty adjusting to being on his wing. I appreciate disagreeing with that in theory but I think it's based on the fact that it more or less happened exactly that way in Vancouver.

I see he's branching out from his CBC broadcast book of choice:
