I kind of agree here, but many may see it as a way out of the darkness or depression they are feeling. They may seem it as some sort of return to normalcy.

And I wouldn't criticize someone for feeling that way, I'm just saying it's not universal. I also think some pragmatism needs to exist when we're still at a time where people can't hold funerals for their loved ones.

Sure. I kind of think I said that it wasn't universal by agreeing with you but thanks for clarifying it for me.

Well, there are two very distinct points in the quote you replied to. Good to know you kind of agree with both of them.

Hey man, anything for you.

But considering that these games are being played almost exclusively for the TV audience doesn't that stand to reason? They're going to want to get as many games on TV as possible so staggering time zones seems pretty standard.

This was something that I was definitely wondering about, especially since you pointed out that there are only 3 teams from the East on the list of potential hub cities.

I don't mean to make light of the situation but Toronto and Edmonton may be looking better and better.

Good point.

I wonder if they've made any headway on the border issues.

It will have to be played in one country or the other, with the current situation in the U.S, perhaps Canada would be the best option Or New Zealand... ;)

Sorry if this was already discussed, but how will it work as for expiring contracts? Isn?t July 1 the date they rollover to next year or expire? Or will all contracts be extended until the tournament is over?

Yeah they're basically just working on having the end dates pushed back until after whenever the playoffs are over.

It will be most likely in Canada and will be in only 1 province. I think it'll be either BC or Alberta. There's still a 14 day self quarantine going from province to province.

Less than an hour after this the Penguins announced one of their players tested positive for COVID.

I'm betting this will end up costing more money than just scrapping the season.

I don't think there is a 14 day quarantine in AB or BC for inter-provincial travel.

Not hockey but this doesn't bode well for team sports imo.

Tested positive today or tested positive and has recovered? I read it as the latter.

That's a month away...you'd have to think they've made some sort of internal decision on the hub cities, right?

I can't remember where, but I read that Las Vegas will be one

Let's set back all future regular seasons for the foreseeable future to risk playing through a pandemic! or convert hockey permanently into a summer sport.
