Official Ottawa Senators Thread

TSNBobMcKenzie: Interesting, on day of Torts hearing in NYC, OTT owner Eugene Melnyk, GM Bryan Murray, NHLPA exec director Don Fehr seen going into NHL HQ.

TSNBobMcKenzie: It's believed they're there as part of Melnyk's forensic investigation into Matt Cooke's skate cut on Erik Karlsson last season.

TSNBobMcKenzie: Melnyk maintained at time of incident that Cooke did it intentionally and vowed to prove it. NHL exonerated Cooke at that time.

I almost forgot about this. I wish we could get to hear the "evidence" Melnyk came up with.

It's a sad state of affairs for the Sens when BobbyMac starts trolling them.

I laughed out loud when they mentioned this on Leafs lunch today.  I too forgot about this "investigation" and thought that common sense had come to Melnyk and it was dropped.  Apparently not.

I'd much rather see Murray trade Phillips to the Boston Senators for Spooner over trading anyone without the surname Michalek for Chris Stewart. Last two games were a disgrace - now down to a 14% chance of making the playoffs. BLOW IT UP

Yeah, going through Alberta and getting 0 points against two of the worst teams in the league really puts them behind the eight ball in the playoff race. Two or three points would have really helped them out.

I'm beginning to think the Sens stink.

Anderson had a .941 SA% in 24 games last season. Who woulda thunk that was going to drop.

Makes MacLean's Jack Adams trophy last season seem pretty funny.

4 points out, 4 teams to pass, 19 games to play . . . they're in tough, yeah. Basically, if they don't straighten things out in the next 7-10 days, they're done.

It's too bad, really. I'd prefer the sens to make the playoffs ahead of the wings to rub Alfie's nose in it, but that appears less and less likely with each loss.

I'm kind of hoping they both miss out - which is getting to be a more realistic possibility every day, it seems.

Isn't it funny how those things work. I'd rather the Wings make it and the Sens don't to rub their noses in it.

Yeah, I can see that side of it too. I think I like busta's take. Seeing a sulking Chris Neil slinking out of the penalty box last night after Calgary's fourth goal was pretty enjoyable. :)

I would like to see the Sens finish bottom 5, knowing that they've already traded their 1st round pick + more for Bobby Ryan. The lower the better.

The kicker is that Ryan is a UFA next summer and I won't be surprised if he decides to sign somewhere else.
