I've been staring at this for 10 minutes trying to think of what he meant by it and I've got absolutely nothing.

He'd be shopping from the layoff pile?

So this guy is 100% either a sens burner account or a fan parodying a sens burner account.

Melnyk is making his rounds to chat about the team.

It seems hard to believe it'd be a sens account because it doesn't really seem like there's any way someone would think that the incredibly meagre upside a random positive account could have  would outweigh the potential downside of it being discovered.

That said, they are all idiots there so who knows?

Doesn?t this guy have enough problems of his own to deal with ? Rather than to go out and open up a big can of worms and critique the state of the Leafs, you would think he would learn to keep it shut.

Man alive . At least it makes the Leafs -sens meetings even more fun to cheer for more drubbings to his Ottawa squad.

Sometimes I think Melnyk is actually a Leafs fan and he's just trying to inflict as much pain to a rival as he can in the ultimate troll job

1. The NHL is involved in getting Ottawa to hire a fixer
2. Their first choice declined because he wants a chance to win

I assume the NHL would like to help the Oilers with this as well.

Back-up goalie who put up a .914 save percentage in 24 games with the sens last season gets a $2.6mil AAV.

That's a lot for a backup goalie for a salary cap ceiling team, but for the Sens who barely get over the floor?  Congrats Nilsson for getting paid.

He's also likely to get into more games than what we think of as a traditional backup. Anderson is getting up there in age, and is on an expiring contract - so, as long as he stays healthy, there's a good chance he's moved before the deadline.

True enough, and again this is the Sens, it really doesn't matter what they pay players especially on 1 and 2 year deals since they're never anywhere near the cap ceiling.  If anyone's contract is a problem it'll most likely be gone by the time the Sens are "contenders" according to Melnyk and are "spending to the cap".  I laughed when I typed that.
