Panthers @ Leafs - Mar. 27th, 7:00pm - SNO, Fan 590

I dunno, y'all.  For a team that we've been assured is pure garbage, gonna blow their playoff spot, etc., they *seemed* fairly competitive from what I saw in that period.

And that is what makes it so confounding to be a Leafs fan. :)

Kerfoot got high sticked behind the play?a minute later Bennett trips Engvall and as he?s going down his stick hits Gudas and the Lwafs get the penalty

The Leafs are scoring on their PPs so they can't have any more.

It is a challenge to this guy's old brainbox.

Frustrating to say the least. Maybe I'm a bit pissed today because we lost last night to a team I completely despise. Should of had a better fate last night but the points we have thrown out the door losing to bottom dwellers lately leaves you head scratching.

Botterill with get rid of the fighting. Should be tossed out. Let's get rid of the hitting to while we're at it. Nothing better than watching 82 games of All-Star shinny hockey.

Why exaggerate? She didn't suggest anything of the kind. It's quite possible for someone to want fighting out of the game and still enjoy a physical game.

Besides, she didn't suggest getting rid of fighting; she suggested a harsher penalty. And I totally agree. Punching someone in the face should be a game misconduct.

I know you don't understand subtletly, but you should try it sometime.
I agree with her. This gotta fight after a good clean hit is stupid.

That I agree with. Say it all the time why go after a guy after a clean hit but that's on the league. Harsher penalty maybe for instigating. 2 guys coming together to fight is totally different.

No, it's not totally different. It's fighting. It's punching each other in the face, which objectively has nothing to do with putting the puck in the net or preventing it from going in the net. AKA "hockey".

It's "OK" to a lot of people because it's been normalized. But it's objectively absurd. It's bare-knuckles against the face, something they don't even do in MMA or boxing.

Jack Hughes is going to score 50 goals in a season.  The guy with 40 goals in 162 games and has a career high of 22.  Sportsnet, no.

This team is hard to watch at times.  But I think we are all just hoping for playoffs to start.
Our D looks stable to the point of when everyone is healthy ,we will have 2 excellent D men
not playing. Go Leafs Go

Yup. I get that it?s been part of the game for a long time and that it gets crowds going and all that, but it?s already become such a minor part of the game that, if it completely disappeared, it would barely make a ripple. It doesn?t do anything hockey-wise and, given what we now understand about brain injuries, post-concussion issues, etc, there really is no need to keep it around. I tune in to watch hockey, not bare knuckle boxing.

Most hated team. Wouldn't even cheer for them if they were the only Canadian team left chasing the Cup like last year. Pulling for TB all the way. Like I said in previous years when we had the schedule when you played divisional opponents 8 times if we went 8-74 and our only wins were against them I would still be happy. Can't stand nothing about that franchise especially their dumbs fans who keep reminding everyone how many Cups they've won.
