Of course, the broadcast highlighted as much, but in no way should that be the focus on that play after the amazing work he did up until that point.

You don't rate the guy and never miss a chance to crap on him, even when he's just set up a historic goal.

You're right, just pick your spots man.

I know where you're going with this, and earlier in the year, I was definitely leaning into it for the laughs. If you look through some of the last month's GDTs, you'll see I've tried to highlight Hyman's work in his own end, and slipping in to negate icings, and dishing it to Matthews.

The way this goal worked out is pretty much why Babcock insists on Hyman on Matthews' wing. He gets into the forecheck, wreaks havoc, and Matthews hunts down the loose pucks that inevitably pop out from the way Hyman plays. He doesn't really need to pass with purpose the way Nylander does (though he certainly can with enough time).

Did they say that there was a 2nd record set tonight?

Nylander with a 12-game point streak, extending the rookie Leaf record.
Matthews breaking Clark's rookie Leaf goals scored record.
Komarov with 100 pts.

I think one of my favourite things to see is when the Leafs get the lead and then say F score effects.

CF% at 5v5: 75% in the first period.

Florida landing here after losing last night surely has something to do with it, but the Leafs are clogging up their line wonderfully, and buzzing through the OZ with good passing.

McStarter is doing a pretty solid job right now.

I hope Reimer is okay.

I'm fine with the Leafs getting a penalty for that...but how do you call a slash on that play.  There is literally nothing that can be interpreted as a slash.

Yeah, how about you don't run over the goaltender Boyle.  Idiot.

He didn't exactly run him over. He just unfortunately caught him in the head.

I retract my initial statement.  More of an unfortunate hip to the head.  Still hate to see it but Reimer's head was way out of the crease so not sure how much Boyle could have done to avoid it.

Agreed. He was going around the net, and the Panther player had the outside lane. Reimer was unfortunately occupying part of the inside lane with his head.

The Leafs are getting outshot 9-2 in the period but I think they are actually having a good 2nd period.

Two minutes for the puck hitting Huberdeau in the face....that's the second made up call from the refs against the Leafs this period.

Hey they fixed the call.  Good job referees!

Alright, we're giving you a 1 minute posting delay.
