Panthers @ Leafs - Oct. 27th, 7:30pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Good to see when Nylander-Matthews had an off night the Marner-Boxak-JVR line picked up the slack

after the second was over this is exactly what i wanted from the leafs..a one goal lead standing up for the third period.  i felt like there was more to be learned here by a close win especially with how they had to come from behind twice to be in that position.  they still have a long way to go but hopefully this was a step in the right direction for both the goalie but also the team as a whole.

No Nylander or Matthews highlights this time, but wait, there was someone else...Marner the Magician.  Boy, can this  guy pass, heck, even blindfolded.

Marner's three points served him well.  Good to see the line of Marner-Kadri-Van Riemsdyk blending well.  Also, Andersen redeemed himself well after his last (and forgettqble) outing.  Good job, #31!

Leafs are 2-0 when Nylander and Matthews are held off the scoreboard.

Leafs need to have them on the ice when leading late and the other team has an empty net.  Need a cheap point to break the curse.  ;)

So Griffith looked pretty good out there.  Good speed, seems to have good hands.  He made a few nice plays in tight in the offensive zone and Nylander almost set him up with a tap in.

He doesn't have breakaway speed, but he's really good at changing speeds, and moves smartly in getting open or working pucks loose. Pretty similar to Brown.

I'd like to see him in the top 9 (with Matthews - Nylander), but that's not happening unless Hyman is broken.

A line up I would be willing try with current parts:
Nylander - Matthews - Griffith
JvR - Bozak - Marner
Holland - Kadri - Brown
Komarov - Smith - Hyman
