R1, G3: Leafs @ Lightning - May 6th, 7:30pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Outscoring Tampa 13-7 through three games.  Playing the defending(x2) champions I think we really have to be pretty damn happy with the outcome.

Campbell has been solid.  Matthews/Marner are our two best players and look like it.  We are getting depth scoring.

If Tavares/Nylander can hit the twine we can win this!

I?d like to point out that the leafs have put 11 (actually 12) goals past vasilevskiy in 3 games. This is impressive.

Engvall and Mikheyev had enough time and space to pin the puck between their sticks and take it over the line together on that first empty netter for a Siamese first career playoff goal.
Now that would have been awesome lol.

It's time to show some resilience. They cannot sit back on this lead and they can't start to panic like they did in game 2.

Are they pretenders or contenders? I have a feeling this just became the most important game they've played in the last 4 years.

Game 7 of last year seemed fairly important.

Yeah and they lost it. So is that what they are? A non resilient team that just crumbles when the pressure is on?

Can you just shut up and enjoy the game.

Aww muffin.

I guess the answer is NO. They are not.

Pretenders?

Q: Are you happy or sad?
A: yes

There we go boys! I didn't get a chance to watch the whole game as my flight was stuck on pearson tarmac for 3hrs and another hour through customs. They bent but they didn't break. Campbell with some amazing saves but honestly when you're facing the defending Champs, you need goaltending to step up in key situations and this was one of those games. I'm so happy with this. Hoping we can keep the momentum going.

Also, very glad we got depth scoring!

That win was gritty as hell. Bent but didn't break and Soup with some yuge saves. What a win against the defending Stanley Cup champions. Only 3 penalties tonight and one goal against. So proud of this team.

When Engvall passed to mikheyev I was complaining to my wife that he?s gotta just bury that and not think about anything else. She told me ?shut the hell up, they scored?
Bowen said it better lol.

I couldn't believe TO at the beginning of the 2nd period, nerves I guess, PP then 2 man advantage, I'm not sure TO even got a shot on net .

Lily out Holl in, senseless?

Engvall gets a lot of crap from people on forums, from the coach but whatever line he's on looks dynamic, normally he doesn't score or assist but the puck normally ends up in the opposition's end, Kampf is usually the player that gets the praise.

What an absolute crap 3rd period, TO won, yes, but I'd say 2 coaches are way overthinking the game. 1st Keefe takes Bunting off of the top line and puts Kerfoot there, what message does that send to the team, the players, well that says we're such a good defensive team that we're going to defend our way to victory which was similar to TB in game 2 where TO was coming back from a 5 to 1 deficit because TB stopped trying to score and tried to defend it's way to victory, TO picked up 2 goals in the 3rd because of that nonsense. Tonite TB owned the 3rd, as they should when Keefe decides they don't need to try own the puck, stupid.

TB's coach took the goalie out with 2:20 left, TO had been under siege thru the entire 3rd period, what a bonehead move, the only reason TO won.

I thought Brodie was particularly bad tonite, in the 3rd he wins a puck battle then passes the puck to a TB player in prime scoring position, Campbell was awesome as he was all night, Brodie had other equally stupid gaffes tonite.

Engvall/Kampf/Mikheyev is an excellent line, why does Keefe keep breaking it up, that line is gold and for TO to be successful it needs to be kept together.

On the TB PPs TO consistently loses the faceoffs, needs to stop.

Driving me crazy that Marner seems back into his pass persona, he needs to take more advantage of his excellent work rather than worrying about feeding Matthews, Matthews and JT are into their playoff games, nearly invisible but at least Matthews makes the occasional decent defensive play.

TB PP, 2 players in front of Campbell as a distraction and looking to deflect shots or pounce on rebounds, TO's PP, 1 player to the side of the net I guess so the shot has the whole net to go into, brilliantly sad.
