R1G2: Leafs @ Bruins - May 4th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

Lose this game and face a very unlikely situation of having to win 4 of the next 5 games.

Win this game and face a much better best of 5 situation with 3 games at home.

For me, game 2 in this series is a game 7.

I'm expecting much of the same as Game 1...the lowest of expectations.

Would love nothing more than to be wrong about this. Like someone else mentioned, it would be nice to have that feeling after a playoff win.....it's been so long.

Am I missing something? Why is Liles being sat?

Carlyle didn't watch Game 1 and apparently thinks the problem is toughness and not a complete inability to get out of the defensive zone.  Watching Fraser fumble the puck 10 feet in front of himself is a much better option.

Although tonight I'm going to be JACKED for a BIG WIN!!!!

JACKED!!!

I wonder what the point of swapping Liles and Gardiner is. Probably just a sideways move. O'Byrne probably not much of an upgrade over Kostka, but we will see.

A couple things about the last 20-20 update on the FAN...

How do you avenge a bad performance? I thought you avenged bad things that were done to you, not things you did to yourself. Maybe I don't understand the use of the word avenge in this context.

It is all fine and good to reference the Isles last night as what can happen unexpectedly in a playoff series, but caution should be exercised here too. The Isles have been playing VERY good hockey the last few weeks and have carried that into the playoffs. The Leafs have played lacklustre hockey the last few weeks, and this has also carried over into the playoffs. Leafs have to start playing better hockey before they can expect better results. I hope they do. :)

Edit: Just checked. Isles finished the season 11-2-4.

So what, I'm wearing a new Leafs ball cap.  :D

My expectations going into this series were low. I was only hoping to win at least one game to avoid the sweep. We really need to play smart hockey against a tough grinding team like Boston. The turnovers and giveaways in the last game were brutal.

DarrenDreger: Unofficial. Looks like MacArthur and McLaren out and Frattin and Hamilton in for Leafs. Gardiner for Liles gametime decision.

Kessel has some pretty elite company there.

My son and I watching game 1 noticed that Liles handled the puck well, went into the corners and didn't cough it up that often.

LHF, it is weird to me why Carlyle would do this swap.

Kinda of like how Komisarek was treated.  I have no idea why he wasn't given another chance.  He had issues in the past with a couple of assistant coaches arguing, etc but Komisarek always seemed like a decent person and team 1st player so I don't know.  He had one of his best fights of his career in game 3 for the Marlies.  No bear hugging, he was exchanging heavy hay makers with McCormick.  It was not staged, McCormick was bullying Marlie players around their net and Komi stepped up.

Why Liles, Komisarek, etc are being sat over inferior players baffles me.

You guys aren't nervous, are you?

Cause I'm not nervous...I'm fine.

I was nervous for game 1, now I'm at acceptance level, if they lose they lose, draft and free agency only 2 months away

I have the peace of mind of the underdog.  A lost series is the expected result;  a series win is a very pleasant surprise.

Follow this wise dentist.

It's kind of funny that TSN sends their 'A' team of analysts, including Darren Dreger, to Boston to cover the Toronto series instead of having them cover a series that the channel actually broadcasts.
