Rangers vs. Maple Leafs - Feb. 28th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

Haven't seen anything on OEL's injury

Leafs are now 4th in point win% with the tie breaker.
Considering all that has gone on with the coaching change, injuries, underachievers, etc, it could have been worse.

That was such a smart play by Marner recognizing that.

Forecheckers try it pretty regularly (often at the half wall on rim outs); it worked out nicely because L1 was all there in support.

Matthews shows off some slick small ice skill by snaking the free puck out without hesitation and finding Knies crashing the back post with a plan already in mind to put the puck into the shelf.

L1 has been pretty drab in recent games unless it’s the third period.

I know it's normal on the boards, and some guys do it - block the wallout - and serve up a pizza for the defender to make a breakout pass...Marner's was intentionally butting toward Knies.

Missed it but watched the game in 6. This team is going nowhere in the playoffs unless 41 and 60 channel Carey Price.

I wonder whatever happened to Auston Matthews. Nice pass to Knies, but they pay him to put the puck in the net. The media tiptoes around the elephant in the room — he's having an awful season.

The one thing I will say is Matthews is 7th in the league in expected goals despite playing 15 fewer games than the people ahead of him. His expected goals/60 is 1.77 which is by far first in the league.

I think it's very fair to say that he's not the Matthews we need but I do think there has still been a fair amount of bad puck luck that could normalize toward his mean before the season is done

The amount of posts he has hit in the last half dozen games is crazy.
