Ranking Prospects 2024-25

Boo hiss

The quote there from Wickenheiser is quite resolute...he needs to get stronger and play tougher, but just hasn't done that.

It's kind of too bad...I'd really like to have seen the Leafs develop a serviceable top 4 d-man, but I guess since they've got their top-5 signed for another few years, it's not a big priority.

That's too bad, but only really because I had hoped he still could have at least been some kind of trade chip. Although even that's probably a year too late at this point.

But wait

I'm betting this is mostly damage control considering Niemela is still of course under contract through the rest of the season and playing with the Marlies. Would be a pretty bizarre report to have absolutely zero truth to.

That's what I think too. Lulea didn't get the memo to keep it quiet until the offseason.

He's at the bottom of the Marlies +/- stats. No gaudy points totals.
He never seems to be a thought or in discussions for a call up - still down the depth chart after nearly 2 AHL seasons.
Whether it is his on ice performance or perceptions off the ice, actions seem to speak louder than words.

Cowan assisted on London's 1st 3 goals and finished with 4 assists and a fight in a 9-0 romp over Sarnia. He now has 59pts in 42 games.

Oops he did it again

Really don't mean for this to come off as a "Cowan bad" thing but it's kinda wild that even with this offensive explosion (17 points in his last 6 games) he's still nowhere near last seasons point pace. 1.78 PPG last season vs. 1.47 this season. Hopefully this hot streak continues into the playoffs.
