Red Wings @ Maple Leafs - Jan. 7th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Terrible period from a shot perspective. Depending on how that last little bit is scored, they could have had one, two or three shots.

Willy looks like he could just walk this team

I think they should let him start taking the zone entries at speed.

They don?t trust him as last man back if the entry fails, and I sort of agree with the team there. Matthews and Marner are pretty good and will cover the counter better.

OK, then I want to see the puck carrier attack the goal once in awhile like he did.

Old Exhibit A: Hyman, Z.

Ugh, Cabbie and his betting garbage. The intermissions are getting hard to sit through, especially the sportsnet ones.

The only thing with net drives on the PP is it?s tricky to make consistently not just a one-and-done. I would like to see more shooting for organized chaos (Marner to Kadri/JvR, or backdoor Bozak). The PP looks static and stale when they stand still to finesse a seam play.

Oh, for sure. But it's a arrow in the quiver that no longer exists with current group. I think they hoped for something like that with Ritchie and Simmonds, but one just didn't fit and the other aged out, and they haven't tried to replace it since.

It?s gotten ridiculous and I?m one that plays the FanDuel and betting on games. Everywhere you turn now during these telecasts it?s some sort of betting commercial. Kills me they tell you here in BC know your limit spend within it but it?s constant pushing to gamble.

Unless the personnel for such a play is actually effective, it?s just more pushing Nylander to PP2 for a netfront mannequin for 2/3 of a contention season.
