I remember loving Berezin when I was very little, but his time with the Leafs came just before I really started paying attention to the team. Looking up his stats again now and he had a pretty strange career. Had a career year in his 3rd season in the NHL at the age of 26 with 37 goals and 59 points (guessing Sundin had a lot to do with that).
I could be way off but I'm not sure that tracks. Sundin mainly played with Thomas that year and, if memory serves, either Johnson or Modin. Berezin was on Korolev's line for most of his ES time.
Berezin wasn't really the sort of guy who fed off his centre anyway. He was more the "I'm going to try and deke around all 6 guys" sort of scorer.
