Loov is best option?

Nielsen probably isn't ready defensively and you could make the same case for Dermott, but he moves a little better so might get a look. Loov is the safe option as defensively more sound while limited offensively.

Marincin still isn't back fully from injury, do they go with Corrado on the left side or call up Dermott or Loov from the AHL?

Babcock filling out his line-up instead of putting Corrado in:

I'm not going to be able to take this "now so-and-so is playing here with him" chatter all game long. We get it. There's 5 defencemen they'll be in a blender all game.

If Rielly is out for significant time it might cool off the playoff talk fast.

Quite possibly. How the team responds to a long-term absence of a significant piece like Rielly will be pretty telling in terms of how far along the development curve they really are.

Well, Kypreos is making pretty much the same point.  We've been lucky so far.

Early signs are "not so well". They've been running around a fair bit since he went off

I wouldn't base much off this game - like I wouldn't base much of any individual game.

Martin - Matthews - Nylander looks like a napkin line Babcock had in mind in the preseason. Matthews playing with a bit of a burr in the saddle knowing he was a major reason for Buffalo's 2nd goal.

Good PK by Polak and Brown
