Sabres @ Leafs - Mar. 2nd, 7:30pm - SN, Fan 590

I missed the game tonight to spend time with my oldest son.  I thought this might be a safe one to miss but reading the comments here it wasn't a good game by the players.

Too bad after playing a "playoff" style game against Washington and winning last time.

:(

They weren't good tonight. Bad bounces aside they didn't execute well. The JT line didn't have a scoring chance or a shot after 2 periods. Just a mess from everyone not on the 3rd line.

Wow.  Thanks for the update!

I miss Freddie Andersen. Did he really have that bad a year last year so they moved on from him? He's having a stellar year so far in Carolina.

Much easier playing in front of a better structured defensive team.

That's not what was going on with Andersen the last 2 years. If the defense was so unstructured why were his numbers so much worse than Campbell's behind the same team?  Freddie had 24 games  with .895% and Campbell 22 games with .921%. Maybe Andersen wasn't fully healthy the last 2 seasons

That was the issue. He wasn't fully healthy. And Carolina gives up more HDC then the Leafs last time I checked. Freddie's a very good goalie that the majority of posters here wanted gone. Well they got their wish.

Him succeeding in Carolina doesn't mean he would succeed here. We didn't ever get out of the first round with him. Every player we get rid of who we let go but has success elsewhere we act like a permanently single guy who keeps pining for his ex.

Just to add to that the assumption some are making is that he even wanted to come back. There?s a very good chance Andersen had no interest in remaining with the leafs.

Agree, I think he was done when they ran with Jack in the playoffs.
