sens @ Leafs - Feb. 6th, 7:30pm - SNO, Fan 590

Zach Babcock had a couple chances to clear there. Got to be better than that

Yeah but earlier in the sequence he hemmed OTT in their own zone.  He is solid out there protecting a lead.

Disclaimer: I am in no way harping on Jake Gardiner with this post. Carlton, stand down.

Babcock needs to break up Zaitsev and Gardiner. They both play better when they aren't with eachother, and Gardiner isn't good enough to carry that plug around the ice all night.

Ugly, ugly win. They looked so sloppy and disinterested in their own end. But that offensive prowess is, to quote Eugene Melnyk, "unparalleled."

On a side note, how is Johnsson still stuck on the 4th line? He's proved he's a top 9 player this year, to have him toil on the 4th and play only 9:30 is simply silly (Not to mention the lack of ice time for Nylander, at around 13:00, who was great again tonight).

But a win is a win I guess  :D

Keep him there until he signs an extension.

Nylander was great? We must have been watching a different game. He only seems interested when he has the puck, tries to do everything by himself and gives the puck away too much.

Totally agree. That pairing just doesn't work. Maybe it will take Dermott to go on the right side or move Hainsey with him but something has to give.

Was at the game tonight. I'm happy we won but the team really shouldn't be coughing up leads like that. They've got to hunker down defensively.

Otherwise I thought Marner, Rielly, Hyman & Tavares had good games. Pretty entertaining game overall.

The Senators were quick to take advantage of their chances when the Leafs languished defensively at that point.  But alas, playing Toronto is never easy, not with the kind of offence the Leafs can generate.  Lesson learned, Senators.

Go LEAFS GO!

Nylander's skating and puckhandling were top notch last night and he created an unbelievable amount of chances.  I saw more giveaways from Marner (not to mention multiple lazy defensive plays where he was unable to clear the puck out of defensive zone) than I did Nylander. He was by far the best player on his line and with limited ice time to boot.

Nylander set Kadri up for two glorious scoring chances tonight.  Not sure how that is doing everything himself.  If Kadri wasn?t having a horrible shooting season Nylander would have another 5 or 6 points on the year already

Just the Senators, you might as well call last night a practice.

I guess I don't feel as happy about this as even though I dislike the Sens, they've been so crap for so long that I kind of feel their pain. What with our losing out on Seguin and Hamilton and all....

At least we have Kapanen, and we used the 1st we got as part of the package to land Andersen to show for the Kessel trade. Sens could be left with nothing.
