sens @ Leafs - Mar. 5th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

I don't care that they lost.

It is the way they lost. That give away was Franson style for crying out loud. That bum should be benched for the next game it was AWFUL.

We were talking about how well Marincin's played lately, but he really is prone to a terrible and head-scratching giveaway every 4 or 5 games.

Like many a young defenseman, I guess.  That was bloody awful, though.

Perfect tank

The young guys need to win at least one. It is going wreck and confidence they had coming in to the NHL

They will, and they were always going to be worse before they get better with the kids.

This was the perfect ending.

No, a perfect ending will be when we lose another game 7.  No matter what, I hate losing to Ottawa.

I think Leaf fans cheering for us to lose should be punished.  Something like picking 1st overall and having that player BUST big time!

I think we've been bani-shed to the puni-shed for long enough, I'm tired of sheds.

Well, I'm good at building sheds!  Love installing roller doors on them!  ;D

Yeah, but, that's sort of true for most 3rd pairing defencemen.

I think Marincin is an excellent third pairing guy, needs to work on those brain cramps though. The problem for him is that he is the type of guy you don't notice unless it's a mistake, so those mistakes shape people's perception of him.

I really think he's been awful since we picked him up but that's just me

I don't think he's been bad, but the way he's perceived is very much coloured by how most 3rd pairing defencemen end up. 90-95% of the time he's on the ice, you don't notice him - and, for a 3rd pairing guy, that's a good thing, as it means he's not making significant mistakes or anything. The issue is, the time you do notice him are mostly because of seemingly glaring errors, and that really impacts the way people feel about the guy. His most memorable moments are negative ones. Really, I don't think he's been any worse than what you can reasonably expect from a 3rd pairing guy.

I just feel that given his minutes and assignments he's been disproportionately bad at not just making a bad play, but making plays that cost the team a win or a point.
