NHL cap rules, winning again.

As much as I don't care for it either it is what it is but in the end the fault comes down to management.

According to Capfriendly.com,

Steven Stamkos cap-hit is:$7,500,000.
His estimated taxes are: $2,939,438, giving him a net income of: $4,560,562.

John Tavares cap-hit is $9,350,000
His estimated taxes are $4,974,500, giving him a net income of: $4,375,500.

This is the so-called 'parity' in the league.  Two star players making roughly the same amount, but a massively different cap-hit.
The Leafs management despite doing everything about as good as one can expect is coming up short, but only because they've been handicapped by the league.

Not sure if that is correct. Tavares signed a 7 year 77 million dollar contract. Cap hit 11 million.

Your numbers are confusing me - Stamkos? cap hit is 8.5

Correct you are.  Sorry took this year's salary only.
Stamkos $8,500,000  taxes: $3,459,200  net income: $5,040,800

Tavares $11,000,000  taxes: $5,857,745  net income: $5,142,255

Garbage take by the panel, that speech was perfect, the team came out of the blocks like men on fire in that game 6 OT and were undone by an individual mistake.

The coach knows the team and that was what this team needed at that time.

Talk about taking a result and building a narrative, that is a hit piece by that panel.

Not to mention Tavares was paid over $40M US in the first 3 years of his contract.

That why he should really have taken a haircut.  Getting your entire salary on July 1st.  It?s a massive benefit

Bang on.  Garbage.

For the life of me I don't get why so much passing on a 5 on 3. Nylander with a great shot in prime position in the slot and pass it off to Tavares with the one timer. I don't get why they don't get it to the net more instead of looking for the perfect play. Wasted oppurtunity.
