The majority of the stats show we played with SJ most of the night. Hopefully we can keep that up for the next game, with better results

I wouldn't say that is entirely accurate, as SJ dominated the 1st and didn't let TO do anything in the 3rd. Leafs played a really good 2nd; however, and, considering the injuries, they didn't fare too badly overall. Might have stolen a point too had there been a 4th line that didn't consist of two of the worst/useless "hockey" players in the league.

OK, but you cant leave a rookie defense man there either, Reilly had an awful night.

This season is over. Maybe I'm being over dramatic but clearly the 6-0 loss didn't wake them up. It's obvious now that last year was a mirage. It

While I wouldn't go as far as to say it's over, it does certainly appear to be circling the drain right now. If they can't right the ship in the next couple weeks, they'll be facing a serious dogfight to try to make the playoffs - and they have a lot of tough matchups in the next couple weeks. I don't like their chances right now, but it's not quite over yet.

It's just too long a sample for me to feel confident. Ever since that game against Edmonton, or maybe that one against Minnesota where they fluked out that 4-1 win, they've been pretty consistent at being outplayed, outworked and outchanced. The outworked part is the one that's really bothering me.

I really annoys me that watching these guys I pine for the days of Domi and Reichel, where those guys could keep the puck in the opposing end for a good minute or 2, even if they didn't score, at least they had the opposition away from their net.

I don't see that at all with this team - no cycling at all, no work behind the net - nothing. They just kind of stand around and hope for the best.

The real thing is Gardiner had a very good game, Holland is showing that he was a steal for Blacker, he will be a good player.  We need to get rid of Orr, Mclaren, Frazer and any other stiffs on the team but at least start with these three.  Then play, Leivo, Abbott, Homealone (Ashton) and give some of the young guys with non stiff potential a chance.
Was it just me or did Clarkson miss about three golden set-ups.  He looks a step behind which is becoming a concern

I think this is about as good a short summary of the game as I've seen.  Sums it up well, IMO.  They weren't dominated in this game beyond the 1st 20 mins when they could have easily rolled over and died after the 1st.

And agreed the 4th line getting caught out there cost the Leafs at least the tie point.

Last night was pretty much the selling point for me that I'm done with Orr and FML, although I am NOT in favor of having guys like Ashton or Leivo on the 4th line instead.  I'd rather see a Broll/Devane set of wingers out there. At least they can play and are far more motivated to make a statement in every game than just go around tapping guys and taking bad penalties.

Was it just me or did Ranger play a pretty solid game last night?  I saw him make a number of small'ish but very effective plays in the Leafs zone.  He was doing very well at separating Sharks players from the puck in the corners, playing very physical, etc.  I don't remember any major errors.

Maybe a step forward.

By the numbers, maybe, but, really, he was victimized by his line mates rather than his own play. Outside of one botched clearing attempt and an intercepted pass, he was excellent last night.

He was a -3 last night, which was the worst on the whole team. Hard for me to accept he was excellent.

Reilly will make mistakes as will Gardiner but they are so dynamic on the ice that they have to stay.  Franson whom last year I became a huge fan of has been playing like a goat most of the time and Frazer well you know how I feel about him. Get a small van and put Orr, Frazer and Frazer M and jettison their asses off this team.  Franson should be traded at this point.  We have Percy and MacWilliam with the Marlies and they will be demanding spots next year.
How about bringing Brennan up in Frazers departed spot as he is one of the top scorers in the AHL for defensemen.
We need offense from our D in a huge way
The main thing is we have to drop the plugs immediately and yes give Brolldozer and Devine some time, they are at least hungry.

He brought the puck out of the zone and created rushes all night long.

Unfortunately he was on the ice with the 4th line for two goals. Problem is he should've been on the ice but they shouldn't have been as they're liabilities.

I fault him for the EN goal, though he did throw in the general area of two players along the boards.

He was the most noticeable defenceman (in a good way) for my money last night.

I'm starting to feel this way too. It felt a little better being a Toronto sports fan the past year but currently it's miserable.

Raptors blow biggest lead ever last night in team history and overall are going no where, Jays had a horrifically disappointing season, the Leafs are going down the toilet, and even Bills are fantastic at creating ways to loose.

I'm as jaded as ever, a complacent loser. I don't expect anything from any team in Toronto.

Thanks for the postive vibes Cabber.  For those of us whom remember the 60's and were imprinted with the Leafs with 4 cups in 6 years as Victors,  its hard not to get down, but we really don't as we do believe at some point we will reach the promised land. Complaining and negativity will not make it so.

Dear Guru, for a religous man that is a lot of dung, and we have been through more shit than a herd of camels for a millennium

I thought the same. Looked a bit slow, but showed how physically strong he is. I think he had a fairly decent all around game.

After defending him for a long time, I finally started to get on his case - then he goes and has a solid game.  Maybe I jumped the gun.

Or, uhm, I mean, YOU SUCK PAUL RANGER DON'T YOU DARE PROVE ME WRONG BY HAVING A REALLY GREAT GAME AGAIN!

No team in the league puts more rubber on net than San Jose and no squad gives up more opportunities than Toronto.
