Simmonds a Leaf

There was clearly a lot of interest here from the get go. Micah seems to think Simmonds is worth the $1.5m. Wonder if he can play on third line in a pinch. Wonder how he fell off a cliff so fast though, kinda weird. Maybe the Leafs staff can rehabilitate him a bit.
New Jersey and Buffalo. Nuff said...2 dumpster fires

He was crap for the Predators too.

Very low risk, addresses some needs and I think there's the possibility of some real upside. Like was said, I don't think anyone is expecting the 30 goal and 60 point Simmonds but 20 goal and 40+ point guy from three years ago?

I'm in on this.

I'm happy for this signing.

As I said in the other thread, there's no way he was getting less than $1.5M. It's actually quite a home-town discount.

;D

Wayne Simmonds is at least this, a guy who can sit in front of the net and get a goal. Something the Leafs have very little of.

I'm also not against him ragdolling a couple guys.

Co-signed. Nobody should be on the roster just because they throw hands but doing that as a bonus? Sign me up.

I just got sad thinking about the fact that his first fight in Toronto will likely be in an empty arena.

I like it, great start, almost no risk. His contract is fine on the 4th line and a deal if he can play 3rd, and hey, netfront on PP2 would be ideal.

However, I sure hope that they aren't done in revamping the bottom 6. One guy isn't enough to say they addressed this.
