Stanley Cup Final Chicago (1) vs Boston (5)

Honestly, with the exception of the first period with several Chicago chances, it was pretty boring affair. Black Hawks were robbed, that 2-0 goal should have counted.

*fume*??.

although I suppose I would have been angrier had the opponent been someone I hate rather than Boston, whom I do kinda sorta like.

Boston wins again going up 2-1 in the series.

Rask with the shutout tonight. He hasn't allowed a goal at home in 160+ minutes(Pittsburgh series) and has allowed 1 goal or less in the last 7 at home.

In other news I don't like JFJ

Boston 2  Chicago O  Boston leads series 2 games to 1.

Talk about 'perfection'.  The Bruins game strategy must have been to 'suffocate' Chicago's offence, no, wait, make that a 'stranglehold' for want of a better description, giving the 'Hawks forwards such as Toews, Kane, Sharp, et al., very little leeway in their passing & shooting game.  It certainly made Boston's goaltender Tukka Rask's job that much easier.

In short, the Bruins attempt at shot-blocking as well as bottting up the 'Hawks in the neutral zone proved quite successful.  In these last two games (Game 3 & 4), it's as if the Bruins have become too much for the 'Hawks to handle,  Or, it's a case of Boston coach Claude Julien outcoaching Chicago's Joel Quenneville.

Whatever.  The Blackhawks need to solve Boston and fast, too.  The absense of Chicago's Marian Hossa on the forward line certainly didn't help their cause. (Hossa was a last-minute line-up scratch due to "upper body injury"),

The 'Hawks did create offensive pressure with the empty net and hit the post/crossbar in the process. That's about the closest they ever came to scoring for the whole game.  Chicago did have it's chances at the outset of the game, with several powerplays, but couldn't muster much of anything. In fact, the 'Hawks powerplay is a measly O for 11 in this Stanley Cup Final so far.  If it wasn't for netminder Corey Crawford's continued excellent play, the Bruins could have racked up a  higher total.  As all could see, this was Boston's night.

Over to you, Chicago.

Yaaay defence! :P

Not cheering for Boston here. I would think Chicago wins the next one. This series has been too close to not go 7.

Just amazing how badly that choice looks now. Rask could be this year's Conn Smythe winner and Pogge is struggling to stick with Anaheim's farm team (??). I mean, in all honesty I was pretty high on Pogge after the world juniors but I am just some shmoe sitting at home watching the players on TV. The highly paid managers who rate potential in junior players must have seen Rask as a high skill guy.

Wonder what the chances are of Bryzgalov retreating back to the Motherland if he gets bought out. On top of what he makes from the buyout the KHL would pay him very generously for his labour.

Hossa to play tonight...  From ESPN:

The upper-body issue badgering veteran Marian Hossa doesn't appear to be all that serious. After sitting out Game 3 as a late scratch, Hossa is expected back in the lineup for Wednesday's Game 4 between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins. That's the word from Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville, as relayed by ESPN Insider Craig Custance.

Kind of crazy:

@PR_NHL:
Bruins trail by two goals for first time since third period of Game 7 of Conference Quarterfinals vs. Leafs.

Seabrook.

Series tied. That 9+ min into overtime felt like 15.

Yes I`m glad I`m not invested in either of these teams.  My mental equilibrium would be out the window.
