I wonder how Dennis Malgin feels watching Nicky Bobby score two huge goals.  He didn?t really deserve to come out of the lineup but they are most likely competing with each other for the same lineup spot

Why not try Malgin on the third line?

I would.  Keefe doesn?t seem to want that given Malgin came out when other guys have been far bigger passengers the first few games

Engvall hasn't done much yet.  He could sit and watch.  Or pull someone off the fourth line.  My understanding is that the stats show they haven't really gelled yet.

I have to say I have never shared in all the excitement over Robertson because I nevver saw him do much in his short time with the big club, but boy, is he a Red Bull energy shot for a team in the doldrums.  What a game.

It took awhile but he has arrived.

Also, I love Nick Robertson.

I know it?s a lot of OZ starts and offensively oriented minutes, but the Tavares line crushed their matchups. All three of them looked really good and if the first line can get motoring, we?re cooking.

I thought the line looked great. It was noticeable.

This.  And it would make azzurri happy.

Robertson bought Malgin his plane ticket back to Switzerland

I don?t understand, now that there?s one why does it have to be one or the other?

I agree.  Both/and, not either/or.

And is there a new rule that the Leafs have to win every game by a 3-2 score?

The goals Robertson scored were nice (how often have we seen other depth scoring options whiff on those opportunities or fire it straight into the crest?); low, quick, and hard.

What's nice, and I think Keefe also drew attention to this, is his pace and relentlessness on the puck helped fuel a lot of that line's possession time. He ate a couple of hits to make plays, but evaded several more and got under sticks to take pucks with regularity (reminiscent of Malgin's first game). The trick is doing it consistently, and Robertson definitely has that mentality.

Beautiful, unselfish feed by Matthews on the OT as well.

He only played 10 minutes but I was actually pretty impressed with Mete.  His speed was noticeable compared to our current lineup (can't wait for Liljegren to get back)

He's always had the talent offensively. Think with him earlier in his career due to his size and how he plays the injuries hindered his progress. I like the aggressiveness in his game he just has to scale it back, play smarter etc and ultimately stay off the injured list. If he can do that he's not going back down.

Yeah injuries were tricky. Most of them were flukes rather than play style.

You can see him targeting sticks and hands when initiating physical contact, rather than trying to square up on larger bodies.

Nick seems to be a lot like his brother, age wise.
Jason's first year in the NHL was when he was 21. Nick just turned 21. The difference between the two though is Nick has had some significant injuries and was forced to play in the AHL as an underager because of COVID. Can't remember the exact number but Jason played something like 68 more games in junior and the AHL compared to Nick. That's pretty significant in the development game. Love the kid and hopefully he can pot them like his brother.
