High 5s to: Andersen, Tavares, Nylander, Kerfoot,Sandin,Marner.

Whatever was said in the room before tonight's game, do it again.

Best game of the season.

I can't say it better.

EDIT: Flipping my vote to break an HM tie.

Muzzin
HM Andersen

I flipped between Freddy and Kappy for HM but getting a shutout after all the criticism he's (rightly imo) faced should be huge for his confidence going forward.

Mentions to Tavares, Kerfoot, Nylander, Hyman, Kapanen

Demerit to none (I think that's a first)

Muzz
Andersen
High 5 to Kappy for his goal, his Pking and standing up for a teammate. Like our Malkin kid too. Lol.
The whole team played well.. Best effort of the year.

Whoops, forgot to post the first PIT game.  It was completely forgettable, so I'm forgiving myself.  I'll just do both here.

I knew somebody would post that.

In truth, it was the rest of the Canes.  And the spectacular laziness, fragility, and ineptitude of the Leafs.

There was some ridicule over the worst man of the match thread that was created earlier in the year.  Can we give everyone a negative for this game?

I don't think any other fanbase faces the constant ridicule and despair this team seems to reach. It never seems to matter what era we're in, the negativity and seeming lack of effort by a collection of high paid athletes is just off the chain in Toronto. Its bad enough the team hasn't even been to the finals in 53 years, but the collection of players just seem to not care enough that we as fans shouldn't either. Collect your money, make your Instagram posts, all is well with the world. Winning is secondary.

I don't buy the, they don't care stuff.

Neither do I,  there are a lot of factors previously discussed but Rielly has proven what a 24 minute a night D man can provide to a team. Holl is Holl, Barrie a defensive disaster who's offensive acumen does't balance the scale in the right direction. Sandin will be a great one but still a young one.  Liljegren doesn't seem to be in the Leafs immediate plans, wonder why he isn't getting playing time with the Marlies.
Muzzin is Muzz, has the odd great game.  So we either need to bring in one very good RHD to help settle things down and hope some of the farm guys develop real fast.
Oh and sign that Aryes guy.

Good post. Rielly is the key here and it's really thrown the D into a tizzy. He's a grade a puck mover. Muzz is a steady D man and Holl has been better lately as he's cut back a little on the pinches. Marincin needs to go. I didn't mind Liljegren's game when he played. Dermott is off a little bit but still shows good promise. We def need a RHD to settle things down but most of all we need Rielly back. Leafs have some good prospects on D. Don't know when they'll be ready though. Duszak is tearing it up on the Marlies, 13pts in 16 games. Kivihelme seems to be doing well also. I think Dubas makes a deal for a RHD.

Well I did say "seem to not care". After the lack of effort last night (and many other nights recently) what else can you attribute it to? Every team has injuries, Leafs seem to crumble far more easily than any other teams.
