TOP 5 PICK!!!

I'm really not surprised given Burke's overriding desire to be the center of attention but I kind of thought he might pass this to Nonis due to embarrassment. I guess BB is immune.

I think this definitely puts the #1 pick in play. Unless, of course, the Oilers plan on winning games 8-7.

Who do you think has the assets and will make a play for the first overall pick?

I don't know. It depends on what the Oilers want and how much they like the defensemen near the top of the draft. I mean, if the Jets offered the Oilers the #9 pick and, say, Byfuglien for the #1 and Edmonton doesn't see a huge difference between the top 3 or 4 defensemen in the draft...who knows?

Edmonton winning this has put an interesting wrinkle in all of this... Should be a fun spring of rumor and speculation. Whatever happens, I'm thrilled to have the #5 spot in this draft. It's in the prefect spot where it's just high enough to A) get a great player or B) be attractive enough for other teams willing to trade up OR down.
