@TSNBobMcKenzie: Pains me to report this, but NHL closing in on landmark CDN TV deal with two CDN networks. Many years (10+), many billions. #overandout

Wow. That's huge.

Hopefully, Jeff Marek will finally get to play a bigger role that befits his knowledge base *hint* Leafs.

Rogers can barely keep a telecast together. They are going to need a bigger boat and up their game substantially.

Also, I would not underestimate the hashtag #overandout. This is big.

That's stupid.

TSN is my least favorite out of the 3 (CBC & SN) But they are still very good. Not a fan of Aaron Ward or Mike Johnson.

Duthie and BMac are good.

I'm a fan of this.  My interest in TSN's broadcasts has declined greatly the last couple years, while shifting to Sportnet.  Extremely happy that HNiC will continue on.

I'm sure a bunch of talent will be moving over.

I don't like this. I always felt that Sportsnet was a distant 3rd when it came to broadcasting games. Their intermission shows were particularly bad in comparison. They are going to have to really step up their game here. I wonder who they bring over to do play-by-play and colour. Bowen/Millen obviously wouldn't cut it for any non-Leafs games.

Going to be pretty weird seeing games on CityTV.

Rogers will assume all editorial control-all editorial decisions with respect to the content,on-air talent & the creative direction of HNIC

Woah. That I didn't know about at first.

Do people even have TV anymore?  We've evolved into an internet-only family and I think the only thing we've missed is commercials.

The agreement guarantees that there will be no further regionalization of games or local blackouts. Rogers has three exclusive windows to broadcast any game involving a Canadian team -- Wednesday nights, Saturday nights (including CBC) and Sunday nights.

In addition, Rogers will use its digital technology to stream games on the Internet, wireless and mobile devices, and satellite radio. Rogers will operate NHL Center Ice and NHL GameCenter Live in Canada.

I think both he and Aaron Ward are the two best players-turned-analysts in the business.
