Which Leafs will Be Named All-Stars ?

While watching the Leafs big boys eat up the Panthers last night i got to wondering ...who...and how many Leafs will be named to the All Star team this year ? Assuming Matthews and Reilly are locks...a case could be made for a few others too...is there a cap on the number of All Stars from 1 team?

How many would they really send from one team? Maybe Matthews, Rielly, Marner
I don't know but I think you could include Freddie in that group. 2nd in wins, 6th in GAA, 5th in SV%. He's having a very good year so far.

My hunch is that with the current format 3 is more or less the maximum each team could get. The Lightning had 4 last year but that was with the game being played in Tampa.

You're probably right, considering the Leafs once had Kessel and Lupul go, they have to have a minimum of 3 players from this Greek god like team

My thoughts are Matthew, Rielly, Marner, Tavares and Andersen are all deserving but there won't be that many so, probably the first 3 I mentioned.

We as fans have just helped to screw our cap situation

This bonus is a non-issue for the leafs cap situation.

He probably would have hit the maximum in 'A' bonuses without the all-star selection and there is enough cap room this season to absorb the potential performance bonuses this year anyways.

I have to think that in addition, obviously, to Matthews, it'd be Marner and Rielly if today was the cutoff.

Marner is 5th in league scoring, and Rielly is the highest scoring defenseman.

Tavares is 17th....on a 93 point pace, and 17th in scoring...this year is weird.

Nah. Management thought ahead this year, and left the team room to absorb stuff.

You can thank Willy for that.

Andersen has a pretty strong case, too - though, he might be caught by the need to have a rep from every team, which may well end up with Howard going for the Wings.

Two months of not paying him (plus the space left free already) leave us with a lot of banked cap space at the deadline and after to pay bonuses and whatever pickups we deal for.
