Any comments on Komarov? Gonna tune into the 3rd period.

Honestly, if he was not rumoured to come over, I would not notice him, except for taking a bad penalty

He showed some nice hustle on the backcheck when he exited the penalty box, but yeah since then he's pretty much been invisible.

He was pretty visible in the first period. He and a Canadian defenceman (Methot?) had a battle going behind the net and Komarov really got under his skin and looked pretty feisty in being a net presence and drawing a penalty.

A little later he took a highstick in the lips and that seemed to slow him down a bit.

They had him on the ice during the last minute (goalie pulled) so I would presume some confidence in him by the coaching staff.

So we lost vs Russia 7-3 after having a 3-1 lead. But for some weird reason I'm not worried at all. The officiating was really really bad. Our goalie was average at best, we lost our temper. And another guy got hurt, we have like 4 injuries already which is a problem. Don't get me started on Yemelin! He spears Franz?n between his legs in a really dirty was and gets away with 2 minutes only. Then he takes a really obvious dive and Franz?n gets a penalty, then he waves to Franz?n when he goes to the penalty box. Then later they're at it again, and Franz?n gets another easy penalty. Later Yemelin scores the 3-3 goal 5 on 3.

I do usually get upset when people dive, but the way Yemelin acted was really not hockey at all. It's like everytime a swede got near him he all of a sudden had rockets in his skates and flew around like a doll doing all sorts of flips, and the guy is BIG.

Emelin was given a 1-game suspension for his spear on Franzen, and Kalinin was given an additional 2 games to his original automatic 1-game suspension for his cross-check on Franzen.

Poor targeted Franzen......

And Franz?n will likely be back in the next game, although he didn't play today vs Italy. But he got his nose broken, so probably some special protection. So far I'm really disappointed in some players, especially in Silfverberg and Victor Hedman. One nice suprise is Kr?ger who has been really good. Landeskog and Stalberg has been pretty awful too.

And our head coach is snotty in media, blames his own players in media, as well as one of the assistants. He's clumsy and boring, and seems to point his fingers at everyone else as soon as we aren't doing well. I wanna see something new and fresh, maybe a coach from Canada or USA?
