1 NY Rangers vs 8 Ottawa Senators

As usual, the sens will see their goaltending let them down (not that anyone is really expecting all that much from them). They won't roll over for the Rangers, but, I don't see them being too much trouble for them either.

Possible quotable offense :p

The Ottawa Senators won the season series over the Blueshirts, but we all know that the playoffs are really a 'second season'.  Will the Sens repeat that here too?  That answer probably depends more on whether the Rangers can play consistently as far as their offence is concerned.

Do the Rags have enough secondary scoring as support for the likes of Richards, Gaborik, Dubinsky, etc.  Tortorella's squad is going to have to prove it's consistency here, even though their defence is capable and their goaltending is top-notch.

Ottawa will need solid goaltending and an offence that will keep putting the pressure on the Rangers defence, with speed and sharp-shooting to foil and get by Lundvquist.  That, the Senators have aptly demonstrated in their games in the regular season.  Now, will they transcend that to the playoffs?

They talk for about 2 minutes about how great it is that Karlsson is off the ice with a penalty.

Then Cole immediately confuses Turris with Karlsson.

Go home and eat your apple sauce, Bob.

I enjoyed the heck out that first period.

Btw, never said it before, congrats on getting to the playoffs ferret and SP.

Senile or not I would gladly take Cole over most of the annoying announcers on tv.  I want to put my foot through the tv everytime Glen Healey speaks.  And the Vancouver announcers have to be the worst.

It's hilarious to listen to Healy praise these teams for things that he spent all season criticizing the Leafs for.  Heard him praise Lundqvist for playing deep in his net, while he would rip Gustavsson/Reimer for the same thing.
