Man, I can't get over how good Nugent-Hopkins is already.  For such a small (not in height) guy, he's just so good.  Kinda like Gretzky in that regard - was never the biggest or strongest, but saw the ice better than anyone.

Yeah he is very good, but hyphenated names are just so distracting.

Agreed. From now on, he shall be referred to as The Nuge.

Now that's a name!

Did anyone notice lt week the interview with gionta by Cassie Campbell? I know I'm a little slow, but she looked about a foot taller then him. So much taller that they zoomed in right on Brian's face. I was curious so I checked there height difference. Gionta is down as 5'7 and Cassie is 5'8. Do players take there skates off during intermissions? Or is gionta really 5 feet tall?

I've always liked Letang.  Good for him to come back from that questionable belt from Pacioretty.  And suck it, Habitu?s.

well karma just bit the habs :D  Letang comes back and scores in OT. Not a Pittsburgh fan here, per se, but geez I hate Montreal :D

A la Lupul the other night.

Surely that will be a suspension........right? It was much worse than the MacArthur hit that garnered him the first 2 games of the season.

My only regret was that goal didn't happen in the 3rd. I hate seeing the Habs get even 1 point. Oh well.

Pretty amazing when you consider that Crosby and Pacioretty -- who have made strong statements about head shots -- were involved in them...

in last 24 hours. It shows how fast game is, how even people with best intentions can fall prey to speed and movement of game.

Have to say I agree.

And Washington got pounded again, 5-1 by Buffalo.

Ovechkin no points and a -4.  :-\

It is odd that if Toronto was playing like Washington I'd think Toronto had little shot at the playoffs.  Since it's Washington, I don't see the worry -- they'll make it for sure.

I don't know so much. They're on the bubble right now, and if they don't start to turn it around soon, they could find themselves in a pretty deep hole. They definitely have the talent to make it without issue, but, they're just not playing like a team that cares right now.

I guess you just can't hit anyone with their head down any longer.

Sure you can. As long as you don't make their head the principal point of contact. Phaneuf's done it a few times this year the way the league wants it done.

Max Pac's hit was completely illegal, if I understand what the league wants to eliminate. Was Letang vulnerable? Yes he was in the middle of a shot. Was it a blindside? Yes, Max came from Letang's right side and "clipped" his head, without really contacting the body. Was the head the principal point of contact? check.

Not really sure how that hit can be anything other than a suspension, if the league wants to be consistent and have credibility.

EDIT: News today is Letang has a broken nose, here's the hit for those who missed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8ZoP5uGFzM

Crosby sounds like an idiot in his rebuttal of Foligno calling him out.  When you go into a scrum, you expect to get hit in the head, it's part of the game.  Well sure, when you get punched, you elbowed him.  Idiot.

I'm sure if Crosby could do it over again he would take back the elbow, but he is no idiot. He puts up with more abuse than most from players trying to get him off his game. I give him credit that he has dropped the gloves instead of getting others to fight his battles (see Alex Ovechkin).
