The sens could be too depending on how their games go.

I'm shocked they can't...I mean Kopitar, Williams, Brown, Richards, Carter, Penner, Gagne, Doughty..

Malkin is on pace for 20 more points than Stamkos and only 4 less goals, he's also won a Conn Smythe trophy. i can't stand Maclean, I have no idea how he was ever a GM in the NHL.

All Shannon said was "Malkin or Stamkos," so I'm assuming he was asking who would you rather have on your team right now or who is the better player. Either way, acting like Stamkos is the clear answer is moronic. Picking Stamkos is bad enough.Saint Nik said:ontariojames said:The other night on sportsnet the stand in host for Millard was asked Malkin or Stamkos by John Shannon and the host thought about it for a bit and then picked Malkin and Shannon and Maclean both acted like he was an idiot for choosing Malkin. Choosing them for what?

I could be wrong but I highly doubt Maclean and Shannon were thinking about salary cap and the fact that Malkin has had a bit of injury trouble in his career when answering the question. It seemed to be a more straight forward who is the better player right now question, the host mentioned Malkin being a complete player and taking the team on his shoulders and Shannon just said Stamkos is a complete player too, neither of them mentioned anything else.Saint Nik said:ontariojames said:All Shannon said was "Malkin or Stamkos," so I'm assuming he was asking who would you rather have on your team right now or who is the better player. I think if the question was who would you rather have right now to build around I'd probably choose Stamkos. He's 4 years younger, the better goal scorer, has a more team-friendly contract and no significant injuries in his past.
Also, there's a slight difference between "on pace for" and "an 82 game pace of". When figuring out what a player is on pace for missed games are a reality.

ontariojames said:But aside from that, Stamkos makes less because he's not as good, he's never had a 113 points and won the Art Ross and he's never lead his team to a cup and won the Conn Smythe. Stamkos has a career high 95 points and is on pace for 96 this year, Malking is showing again this year that when he's at his best he's a 113-120 point player, that's a big difference. Stamkos being a 50 goal scorer doesn't make up for the difference in point production ability, people's idea that goal scoring counts for significantly more than overall points is completely illogical anyways.
