L K said:His ability to work through control problems is much, much, much better this year, but this was nothing short of an ugly start. In the 3rd inning he had 2 walks and 3 wild-pitches and Mathis had to block a few more in the dirt. His strike:ball ratio wasn't good and he was close to 80 pitches after 3 innings. That he managed 6 innings is great but they need him to be more reliable rather than throwing 120 pitches to get past 5 innings.
Potvin29 said:Good battle by Drabek not to let it get out of hand. Last season when he was walking guys he was getting frustrated and making it worse. Not a great start by any stretch, but props nonetheless for holding a talented team to 1 run (I'm not counting that BS with the catwalk) over 6 despite having some of your worst stuff of the season.

Has anyone heard any updates on this? A lot of noise about the unconfirmed rumor but it went quiet right after that.

Someone's got to teach these guys to throw strikes.

On the plus side, only 4 teams in MLB have allowed less hits, so, they're not paying for their wildness too much, so far.

But they're also 26th in HR allowed so the lack of hits is A) probably heavily influenced by the defense and B) probably not sustainable.
