The entire fanbase is looking at you to turn their 18-wheeler that's speeding towards a cliff around. No pressure kid.

If he doesn't score in the first period, Montreal is going to implode.

In all seriousness, it?s going to interesting to see how he pans out. Can he succeed the way DeBrincat has - though, without anywhere near the talent around him - or will he be yet another small skilled forward who can?t translate his talents at the NHL level?

Part of me is cheering for the kid because we all like seeing young people succeed. The other part of me is pissed at Bergevin and the organization for putting him in this impossible to win situation. Well, I suppose he could win it if he comes in and lights it up. But with no supporting cast, how likely is that?

He looks tiny out there. Had a few shots but other then that, pretty uneventful.

Yeah. Bit of a meh debut. Obviously, only one game, but I'm sure a good chunk of Habs fans have already written him off.

He could buy himself some time by learning to speak French.

Barabanov finally notched his first NHL goal with the Sharks :)

I think we are all fans of the save that got Babcock fired.

I was visiting friends in Calgary when this game was on and we were driving back to their home from Banff in what was easily the scariest snowstorm I've ever been in a car for. Legit couldn't see more than 8 feet in front of us, and lighting was terrible for large stretches of the drive. If I was the one driving I'd have definitely just pulled over and waited it out or found a place to stay for the night, but I wasn't driving so we soldiered on. I truly believed I might die that night.

But I still had a better time than everyone who watched that game.

If I get one of the Fleury figurines,  I'm going to make a little gold model of your friend's car and put it in the glove, then scratch out Fleury on the back of fugurine's jersey and write in God. I will call it Saved by God and I will sell it to you for $19.95, spread over four easy payments.

I was just about to post that. Glad he's doing better, pretty shocking story! I knew he had it bad but not this bad.

Brian Burke standing with Brendan inspiring other hockey dads to be awesome is wonderful.

Couldn't agree more. Nice story.

Do you think that the NHL will switch up it's playoff format in the near future.  When they go back to the old divisional format, there will be 8 teams out of the 16 that do not make it.  If you look at a team like Ottawa, it will be hard for them to qualify for the playoffs over the next couple of years, because it is hard to see two of Tampa, Boston, Toronto, Florida and Montreal not making the playoffs.  Also at some point I think Detroit starts to take a step forward as well.  Doesn't this hurt a team like Ottawa long term if they can't start to make progress towards playing in the playoffs.

If they switched it so the top team in each division have a bye for the first round, and make that first round a best of 5, would that not help improve the financial situations of some of these teams, because that would be gate revenue for at least two games without having to pay salaries.  Now you may have to drop some games off the schedule and go back to an 82 game schedule, so I am not sure if that would be good or bad for teams overall.
