Next Saturday against MTL should be tough, MTL has the whole week off Saturday to Saturday?
It's def a weird sched with the Leafs playing 3 games to the Habs zero.
Yep. This Saturday we get the Habs on a 3 in 4 nights, next Saturday they get the Leafs on a 3 in 4 but they're off all week. Hopefully they're rusty but I'm already penciling in next weekend as a loss

Schedule is definitely a little odd this season. There's a stretch in March where the Leafs have 4 days off, followed by a back-to-back with Calgary, then another 4 days off.

With how little travel there is in these stretches though I wonder if players prefer that as opposed to a consistent game every other day.

I think it's more a by-product of the NHL anticipating that they would be likely postponing games, so they leave pockets all season for every team in case they have to make them up later.

Robertson is back in action, but was shuffled to the Marlies for their training camp (along with Brooks and Sandin).

Are his skates the wrong size or something?

I defended Vesey earlier in the season but he's quickly playing himself out of the line-up with the way guys like Petan and Boyd have played and with Robertson still waiting for a real shot.

If the Leafs go with a Nylander - Matthews - Marner line, (cuz Willy has been playing the left side) why not a Hyman - Tavares - Mikheyev line?

I'd like to try it.  ;D

I was excited about the acquisition, but after watching him play, I've very, very pessimistic about Thornton playing a top 6 role.
CTB has the numbers but Matthews with Joe and Marner were like 73% Corsi..the same hasn't been true with Hyman even though the line has produced.
JT and Willy need to get going so Keefe is hoping Hyman can help them.

Agreed... he is almost invisible...

If Matthews didn't shoot like 4% or whatever it was to start the season absolutely nobody would be questioning Thornton's spot on that line.

Agree. Love Hyman there but another line needs help and Thornton is a better playmaker then Hyman. I think the line could be more dangerous.

Vesey's been brutal. I didn't have high expectations but I thought he could float on the third line.
