2020-2021 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I realize we have injuries but why is a guy with 3 points in 20 games getting on the top PP unit?  I really hope that means Joe is good to step back in the lineup on Wednesday

I think they should try Lehtonen on the first unit.  He can get shots through and that adds another dimension.

Well, actually maybe he should stay where he is and let Tavares tip.

Hmmm this doesn't sound like something they'd say about a player who's only going to miss a handful of games. Hope I'm wrong about that.

I think it's kind of the standard answer regardless of time frame. I haven't heard the Leafs announce anything yet in regards to what is broken.

Small sample size here (he's only taken 37 face-offs this season) but his win percentage is 51.4%, up from 39.1% in 105 face-offs last season.

I think Engvall is going to be a fixture as the 3rd line C. I think Kerfoot stays where he is for now with JT until Galchenyuk is ready to go.

Sounds like Barabanov (and Sabourin) had issues with their COVID tests.  The PCR ones were indeterminate, so they had to undergo more tests.

Agree. I think it's obvious that Kerfoot is much better at LW. Engvall has the skills to be a good center if given a run there I think.

Galchenyuk...I'm not holding out much hope for him but maybe he can push Vesey out of the lineup, at least until Robertson is ready (which may not be this year).

I don't have an issue with Kerfoot at centre but he really seems to fly on the wing. His weakness is in the faceoff dot which strangely enough is worse then last year. Matthews too.
Engvall will have to start putting up some points though if he's going to be at 3C.
