2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Any way to watch this from Sweden?
I don't think we have Amazon Prime here, at least I've never heard of it.

Best to check amazon.se; Prime was recently made available in Sweden and that includes the video streaming service. You should be able to try it out for a month for free, but it would be better to check after Oct 1 to see if it actually gets released in Sweden officially. The distributions rights across various regions makes it a bit tricky, but given that this is an Amazon Prime original production, I'm guessing it will be available wherever Prime is available.

Thanks,
Yeah I saw that Amazon Prime had been launched in Sweden. I can't find any info on weather All or nothing will be availible for swedish account but like you said, there is a one month free trial so I'll just try it.

I think you can see what's available on the platform in your region without signing up. So don't waste the trial just yet! I also read the delivery service was iffy and the Amazon launch in general was a dud.

?You have a lot of options: You have a guy behind you in the [one-timer] spot, you have [Rielly] up top, and shooting-wise you don't really need to place it that much,? Marner said. ?It?s just about getting it on net. With Ritchie or whoever is in front, it's usually a hard save for a goalie, so just getting it there and creating havoc is going to be my mindset.?

Even I ? bubbly, enthusiastic, and a friend to all but at the same time truly a hockey dullard ? had this very idea last season (and before they went comatose, actually).  Duh.  It's about time.

Kampf and his wingers will likely be the responsibility of Malhotra, recently deposed from PP duties.

Kampf is also be in the running to claim the Fittest Leaf crown, recently vacated by Hyman. Nylander will be his toughest competition.

It seems every season we get these glowing articles about new Leafs and how they'll fit in.  I'll reserve judgement until later in the season when we see Kampf play a bunch of games and exactly how effective he is.

What else would anyone possibly write about?

Should we all get off your lawn too?  ;D

You forgot Engvall who apparently was the current beast.

Yeah I know I'm salty. I'm just tired of getting my hopes up year in year out for decades only to see the team fail when it matters most.  I just can't get overly excited about anything unless it's playoff success at this point.

Enjoy the ride...at least we know that if it doesn't go well this season we'll have a new GM to complain about, and that's always fun!

I know every ownership group is different, but is the Dubas really on the chopping block if the Leafs don't make playoff hay this season?

I think it depends on the outcome.  I think we know that there is going to have to be big changes in the organization if they can't get out of the first round again (or don't make it altogether....).

Nylander would be the easy one to move but you probably see them trade Marner.  I don't know that they would give Dubas the opportunity to make that deal.  I think he would have to plead his case on being the guy to make those changes but even though he has only been the #1 guy for a few years I think his plan is so focused on the development of what has happened over the last 5 years that his neck is going to get tied to the entirety of this iteration of the franchise.

I think if they don't make some noise in the playoffs Dubas would have to have something big come up this year that he could point to as evidence that he's contributing a lot of value to the franchise. One, or more, of his draft picks having a real breakout sort of season sort of thing.

I thinks he and Shanahan could be done, yeah.

Other than not progressing past rd 1 (a Mikheyev shinpad away from winning the last series), what is the fireable offense here?

Why do you think more reasons are necessary?  At this point with Dubas, there are no more woulda coulda shouldas.
