"I'm going to catch this prospect off guard by asking him a very popular question that gets asked not only at every single scouting combine but also in job interviews all across the world... yes yes I'm incredibly clever he'll never see this coming."

None of these guys have had job interviews

No but all their agents have 100% coached/prepared them for these interviews and I'm sure have been told what the "optimal" answer to this question (and others) is.

Stop dodging the question, Carlton! Would you choose bear?

Best describe me as a hockey player? Easy, sloth.

Scouts should at least give me points for honesty, unlike those "lion" folks.

alright... what animal do you think will impress these vultures in these Hunger Games interviews?

I feel like this would be an easy way to signal to some teams that you want to play for them. Say Penguin or Panther or Shark or whatever. If the Leafs ask you, say Raccoon.

Totally going wolverine or honey badger.  On the ice I am a complete nutcase and I will not stop until the enemy has been utterly defeated to the point where if they have ancestors they will stay away from my ancestors.

Boy it's a tough choice between Rutger McGroarty and Jagger Firkus for "Which name will be more fun to say if he makes the Leafs".

Rutger McGroarty answered the animal question btw

Well now they're never going to know if Marco Kasper would rather fight 1 horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses.

I wonder if some of the teams are secretly hoping for the prospects to answer: "who cares? Those are stupid questions. I'm a fast skater, have a wicked wrister, and have never sexually assaulted anyone."

After an exhaustive scouting process that consisted of reading multiple and multiple paragraphs/blurbs on various players I've come to the conclusion that I'm on team "Swedish centre" for our first pick. That's either Noah Ostlund or Filip Bystedt. By the looks of some rankings Bystedt could slip into the early 2nd round so he'd be a target especially if we trade down with a team like Arzizona/Montreal/Detroit/Seattle.

In 5 years when I'll be able to gloat about how right I was, or pretend that I never wrote that at all, it'll all be worth it.

It brings up a good topic...was there a guy or 2 in later rounds that you were really high on like 5-10 years ago?

I was pretty high on the Fedor Gordeev 5th round pick in 2017.  Thought he might turn out to be a super shut down d-man.

Wrong again, Frank.
