Yes. Leafs could have opened up some salary room for a competing team.

In Tre's defence, it seems he wasn't the only GM who struggled to make moves. Why on earth would Evander Kane remain on Vancouver? Eliminating the ability for teams to do double retention is a big L for the league. What was the problem? Every team could do it, it was limited to 3 per team. Had no effect on HRR. Just dumb.

Sure. Could see some AHL deal and prospects moved, but NHL guys aren't going anywhere after today. Not unless their season is already done.

Ok, we can froth now. This was not acceptable. We did very little to restock the cupboard. We overpay all the time and get garbage return back. Treliving should be fired yesterday.

The Roy trade was fine. The McMann trade was acceptable. The Laughton trade (while I think moving him was the right call) just highlights how stupid this organization is.

I would have been reluctant to trade any of the D (Outside of Rielly). They are hard to replace especially at a decent cap hit.
