Auston Matthews

I?m just thankful that we got to talking about Sundin again for a bit.

I?m glad I brought it up.

I?m also glad it prompted me to spend a half an hour dipping into various YouTube videos of him and reminding me of not just him but some of the other guys who played back then who I had completely forgotten existed but who I vaguely recall thinking I like pd them at the time. Chad Kilger anyone?

Time to re-hash Antropov vs. Brendl?

Absolutely. Or how about how Simon Gagne was a superstar but Sundin was a ?good but not great? player.

I used to get sooooo worked up back then.

Guys, do you ever think Kaberle might be better as a forward?
No. His ability to move and carry the puck was so valuable to the D corps back then. He was so good at it and those feather/pillow passes on the PP. Sandin reminds me of him but with more physicality.

Indeed. That was a joke about a stupid topic that would frequently get brought up on the boards back then. I was not, in fact, asking about whether or not the Leafs should move Kaberle, who hasn't played for the team in over a decade, to a different position.

I remember us poking fun at how he said "PP".

My second favorite player after Mats.  That guy was butter on skates.

It?s sad that the salary cap makes things like this less likely

Tavares leaving would leave a nice McDavid sized hole in our salary cap.
I wonder if McDavid ever regrets signing that contract?  The money is great, but he'd be able to command a huge contract at any time. Had he only signed 5 years he'd have 1 left and could control his own destiny if the Oilers still stunk at the end of the deal.

I know it's crazy to say "I regret signing a $100M contract" but if he wants to win a Cup he's stuck with the Oilers right now.
