Weren't we one of the fastest teams in the league?

Yeah, but perhaps only like I'm one of the fastest skiers on the hill. - No control whatsoever. I'm just a threat to myself and everyone out there. - I get going to fast and I'm too afraid to fall.  ;D

Yeah, this isn't the Mighty Ducks.

I don't think pointing at Schenn is emblematic of the team.  The team overall skates very well - obviously some on the team do not, but not everyone is a great skater.

I know, but like I said from the outset, it can't hurt. She's obviously highly regarded and well, the Leafs felt a need.

I looked it up... Graeme Townshend is listed as the Leaf's current skating coach. I'm not sure if he keeps his gig or not.

"With the hiring of Underhill, current Leafs skating coach Graeme Townshed is not expected to return next season."

I wonder if part of her mandate is to teach Schenn when to not chase forwards up the wall or into corners.

Isn't he Philly's problem now?

Nonis: "Luke, I know we just hired Barbara but you um........... can't meet her until ...... July, or something.  Why? Oh well, she's starting with Komisarek and well, she needs a lot of time there. *snickers* Yeah, that's it."

I suppose this makes this the first woman hire in Leafs history among their coaching staff? I don't know, I think that's a pretty cool thing.

A player that has really impressed in the playoffs in Brian Boyle.  I had never heard of him until the playoffs started.

A couple of days ago I heard someone interviewed about him.  (I forget who it was, but I think that it was someone from the New York media.)  He said that when the Rangers got Boyle from LA, it looked like he had no future because of his weak skating.  He started working with Underhill and see what he brings to the Rangers today.

If Underhill can work similar miracles with current and future Leafs, then this is a major signing.

If she had been working with Schenn prior to this season then she can go frack herself.

His skating is horrific.

Go out and give the skating school Tavares has been working with a blank cheque to whip their skating into shape.

It says that in the article she was also working with Tavares.

so if it doesn't help can we start criticizing her like Allaire?

8)

She gets one season to fix everything. Everything.

You're too generous.  That's a lot of slack you're giving there.  I give her 10 games.  After that, she's fair game.

I posted the video link on page 1. I really suggest all view it... It's only ~5 minutes.

Thanks, Sarge.  I missed your post post on page 1 when I first skimmed this thread.  Terrific video and helps to explain how the Rangers jumped to  the top of the conference so quickly this year.

Actually, we still need to clear that paper jam in the fax machine before the deal can go through.

Anybody have a coathanger?
