There might be something to playing Plekanec more to get him engaged and to get his opponents enraged. He was averaging 16+ minutes before the trade and then was dialed down to 11.

That's the spirit!

*looks up the last game that Plekanec played against the Bergeron unit*

Goddamnit...

I wouldn't put Nylander at C either. Friggin Kadri, you ramrod! We need you.

It's a better lineup with Komarov out and Moore in. Especially when you consider the massive role Komarov was miscast in. It has to be the Matthews/Nylander/HYMAN show tonight. Yes HYMAN earned those capital letters.

Seeing turtle necks name there that high up does trigger the gag reflect though. Considering Kadri's out I don't hate these lines.

Komarov finally out! -- thank the guy who bodychecked him.

I predict crappy Plekanec to finally get a goal as a Leaf cause Marner will set him up.

That 4th line has speed to burn, hopefully they can chip in with some offense, I'd like to have Dominic Moore show Babcock he should have been playing all along.  Then when Kadri comes back, maybe we sit Plekanec.

I would have liked to see Marner and Brown get swapped on these lines. For the same reasons that I've brought up before, whoever gets matched up against Bergeron is going to get caved in regardless. May as well try to put our offensive weapons on other lines to outscore them that way.

Moore always seem to have some extra punch when inserted back into lineup. His wingers are fantastic. Just go to the net and put your stick down, suits him perfectly.

Oh yeah, Moore can still skate despite his age.  Johnsson and Kapanen are two fast and tenacious wingers, I think they'll compliment Moore nicely, that line should be able to have scoring chances.  Hope it goes as I'm thinking, they could cause fits out there.

Game day... please be competitive.

Hockey Gods if your listening that was a complete BS start to last game, ridiculous bounces, no more of that! Hard to start a game at 4-0.

I agree 100%.  The Hockey Gods owe us big time after that mess in Boston.  Lets hope that was them punishing Boston and there fans with a two game tease.

I?m not normally a praying man, but if you?re up there, please save The Leafs, Frederic Andersen.

Frederik Andersen is "up there"?  ;)

He does need to pull himself together and have a strong game.  Unlike his last 6 weeks or so.  :P  That doesn't happen, and all our fussing about lines doesn't matter.

They got him just for this purpose, so they might as well double down.

No doubt.  Leafs need the "November to January" Andersen to show up.

BTW we are winning this tonight.  Bank it.  I rarely make predictions, but when I do, I'm never, ever wrong.

Also, I am trotting out my one and only Leafs jersey, a nonstandard cheapo bought at Canadian Tire the last time I was blessed to be in Ontario.  It's time to pull out all the stops.

Come here bro.

Closer.

If the Leafs are losing at the half-way point of this game we have to put Nylander-Matthews-Marner together and play them like every other shift.

I swear to god, if they do that, they need to play the Voltron music the first time they take the ice.

MLHS noted this earlier, but Moore knows how to play short minutes. He'll probably turn it over a bit more but understands his role.

I also don't think the end of game lineup looks like what they're practicing with here. Nylander has not broken through yet but has looked good up the middle.

He was also mediocre on a god awful Montreal team while getting those 16 minutes a night so I'm not sure that this is a very good argument.

So far this series has highlighted the weakness of our defense and the lack of center depth in the organization.  I hope Lou/Dubas/whoever is taking notes.

Brown and Hyman should play half the game each. One comes off, one goes on all game long. Easy peasy.
