Keefe did it in the playoffs against Montreal when he took Sandin out of the lineup for Dermott and Sandin came back and didn't look good.  I wonder if Timmins getting scratched got in his head and cooled him off.

Playing with Gio and Brodie is a much different game than playing with tonight?s partner.

I like Rielly but he's not on the PP and is a defensive liability.  Signing him to that extension may not have been the best decision

You can say that again.  The deadline acquisition process needs to focus on finding someone who can play and accentuate #44.

Timmins was fine until tonight being paired with Rielly.

That's where Brodie will be...with 44

He's made some really good plays tonight, but the bad ones completely overshadow the good.

That loud thud you may have heard is Connor Timmins coming back down to earth.

He's a pretty good #5/#6 guy, but he's nowhere near ready for the first pair.

Agree, not yet, anyway.  I think we were all getting excited by his play since the trade - me included - but that may not necessarily be a reasonable expectation at this point.

Better period for the Leafs as far as chances go, but they gave up their fair share too. Not feeling too good about the 3rd, but we will see what happens.

It would be great to flip the script and come back on them in the third for a win but it'll take a mighty effort.

Rielly-Brodie
Giordano-Holl
Sandin-Liljegren

will work for the playoffs, barring injury. Testing Timmins with everyone is a good idea, even though it sucks tonight. He has great potential and is under contractual and cap control for a good while, which can help us slow roll Niemela/Villeneuve. But we will need to have some Brodie, Giordano replacements in the next year or two.

Rielly?s partner needs to have no offensive ego or instincts.

Giordano needs to start getting some strategic nights off for R&R.  If he's not going in the post-season we are probably done for.
