Um wtf?

Maybe he's refusing to consider Luongo and he's been told we'll find someone who will?

Actually first thing my mind went to as well.

Nonis-time?

But aren't they one and the same practically? It's like replacing Cliff Fletcher with Bill Watters.

Maybe not for this forum but they are saying in Vancouver it's related to
"extracurricular" activities involving other MLSE employees. I have no idea
of course.

I wouldn't believe anything you hear from Vancouver about Burke. They very much have an axe to grind there.

I love the picture TSN is using:

Must have been some sort of a conflict, because if they wanted to fire him, they could have done it as soon as the lockout started, then they would have had plenty of a time to find a new GM, but to do it now?!

this doesn't make sense...let him bring in a new coach for a couple of weeks and then fire him?  ..something gigantic is missing here ..i know there was the change of ownership ...but really?

Wow
Wow
Wow

Did not believe it when told by a co-worker.  Until I know why (if we will ever truly know), I'm not thrilled to hear this.

This may actually bring me back as a fan.  It's been a long time coming - really, he's done very little right as GM beyond a whole lot of bluster.

even if you want burke out..why now?  they have an extended off season..but decide to drop the hammer just before it's going to start?..that just seems stupid

Oh I agree - this appears to amount to terrible mismanagement as a whole.  But I think it's the right decision in the short and long term.
